In all fairness, this movie probably isn't 3+ stars, but it just brings back so many good memories of being a kid, I had to over-rate the film.

Another 80's cartoon movie from a popular series. It is very much like the Transformers Movie with a new bad guy voiced by an expensive actor although Transformer's I imagine was more expensive since they had Orson Welles. Anyways It is also like it because it desires to out with the old and in with the new characters. They certainly wished to replace the old characters with the new ones just as they had done in the Transformers. But the series changed hands when the movie came out and they made it so the fans beloved characters did not die like they did in the Transformers movie. They actually just changed a line to save the old main character. Anyways standard series animation slightly better but the stories are worse adding in all sorts of bad origin story things , and overall …

A wonderfully fabulous movie about everyone's favorite American heroes. I'm rating the movie so highly because of the degree to which it succeeds as a movie about the cartoon series. This isn't Casablanca or Citizen Kane... this is a movie about G.I. Joe for the kids who loved the cartoon series, and in that respect, it's totally awesome.
I will file one complaint about this movie, though. They introduced a lot of new characters just for the movie. The bad guys they introduced were great, because that's what upped the ante enough to make it a movie and not just a long episode. But the new Joes were totally not needed and the movie would have been better if they'd just stuck with the Joes we all loved.
