I recall viewing this as a child and remembering the magnificent characters. The method of direction and claymation brought out the sensitivity to make this a touching Christmas classic. It's impossible not to feel for the figures portrayed. Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer may have been one of the pioneers in terms of the manner it was depicted, truly an entertaining watch from start to finish even with its soundtrack and values.

The most memorable of all the claymation Christmas specials. I always liked the abominable snowman.

Hard to hate on - it's a Christmas classic, after all, and there's a certain charm in the fragility and crudeness of the stop motion animation.
