Guilty Until Proven Innocent?

Part documentary, part creative interpretation of the facts, Strange Culture does a compelling job of explaining the horrible circumstances of the case in question. Rational viewers are left wondering what case, if any, the government could possibly have against Kurtz -- much less one that would churn up thousands of tax dollars to prosecute -- all in the name of... terror? Fear? Or proof that governments and corporations are more concerned with bottom line profits and political facades than the freedom of their citizens?
As a documentary made before the trial even begins (if it ever DOES begin), the film also avoids the cliche of summing its point up in a neat moral package. Instead of being able to judge events in retrospect,. we're forced to evaluate them mid-action, and wonder …
