While not badly directed, I felt it was honestly kind of boring. Felt a lot like a stage play with a camera. George C. Scott was miscast though he gives it his all.

A very strong version of Scrooge with George C. Scott in the lead role. This is probably the most accurate to the book version, although that does not make it the best version. It certainly is a stronger version and is very well made in almost every aspect. The look of the film is very nice, and the score is well done. The acting is fairly strong although no certain portrayals of these characters stick out as they do in the Alastair Sim version. Scott is a good Scrooge especially at the beginning. His transformation is okay, but his ending moments are not nearly as good as Sim's but Sim's are the best ever. Although not the best version a very strong very accurate version certainly worth watching.
