Stagey but undeniably well acted adaptation of Shakespeare's classic play.

This film is constructed more like a stageplay - with staged dialogue scenes and numerous monologues - and, thus, is one of the more faithful adaptations of the Shakespearean play. It drags at times, but the cast of method actors elevates the material immensely.

A very good adaptation of a interesting Shakespeare play. It is well shot, and very well acted. The language here is easier to understand actually then many plays and the direction is properly done so you understand what is going on. My only real problem with the film is that after the climatic death of Caesar and the dramatic speeches instantly afterward the story kind of peters out and just seems to go through the motion just a little bit. Still very good and based on real facts but the story just maybe could have been told slightly more dramatic in those scenes.
