A sweaty bawdy Southern Gothic with a collection of good quirky performances. Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward were soon married after starring together in this film. You can sense their chemistry leap off the screen. Veteran thespian Orson Welles has a lot of fun playing an aging good ol' boy millionaire.
