Plot: Hélène runs an antique furniture store on the seaside town of Boulogne with her step-son, Bernard, recently returned from military service in Algiers. An old flame and his niece also return from Algiers where he ran a cafe. He talks often of his fiancee, Muriel, a woman Hélène has never met.
