Plot: Billy Joe confesses his love to Bobbi Lee - but it's more of a response to cover his growing fear that he is homosexual. A barn dance finds him in the arms of an unnamed man rather than the many women and, realizing his guilt, rushes to tell Bobbi Lee. But she refuses to give up their relationship - even if it's not for real - and Billy Joe feels the only way out is to plunge off the Tallahachee bridge. -- Chris Kavan
