A desperate criminal takes hostages at a desert diner in this tense drama. Leslie Howard brings some much needed humor whilst Bette Davis gives a heartfelt performance. One can see Humphrey Bogart crafting his future tough yet vulnerable persona as the crook Duke Mantee.

I'm disappointed that The Petrified Forest wasn't as good as I was hoping.It felt like it was over before it started & there was really nothing there anyways.Key Largo isn't exactly the same as The Petrified Forest but it is similar & worth watching more then this movie

I thought this movie was excellent. I think that Bette Davis and Leslie Howard should star in every movie together.
