Plot: An Italian policeman (carabiniere), Antonia, is charged with taking two children - Rosetta and her brother Luciano - from Milan to an orphanage in Sicily. They are being taken away from their mother who forced Rosetta into prostitution. As the drive goes along, the rocky opening relationship between Antonio and the children begin to thaw as they become temporary friends. -- Chris Kavan

A heartfelt and very realistic look at abandoned lives with honest, moving performances. Enrico Lo Verso and Valentina Scalici are utterly terrific. Final Grade: A-
