Danny Huston's electrifying performance is clearly the highlight, though both Josh Hartnett and Melissa George are quite effective.

A small town in Alaska endures a whole month of darkness every year. Only this year will be different. A pack of vampires has descended upon the town to feed and to leave no trace of what happened. It`s as if they`ve done this before. A select few of the townfolk realize what`s happening and devise a plan to just survive the onslaught. Stay alive until the sun comes back. A twisted ending that will leave you stunned.

"30 Days Of Night" by Yojimbo

A remote Alaskan town that endures a month of darkness once a year is cut off by a pack of predatory vampires. Josh Hartnett heads up a group of similarly bland survivors who run through snow covered streets/huddle in deserted buildings/repeat to fade. The vampires are of the feral pack animal variety and do little more than squawk and hiss and leap through the air as they pick off our stereotypical heroes and so are just as uninteresting. Mark Boone Junior is the least dreary of the bunch, and the scene where he decides to go on the offensive is easily the best, but he and it are far too short lived. There are some decent effects and a few nice images of blood stained snow, but right through to the anti-climactic ending, there's little here to distinguish it from the untold undead …

30 Days of Night

30 Days of Night. I love this movie, it's a fresh take on the now dulled Vampire sub-genre of aristocratic, sauve, beautiful, brooding Vampires I have grown to hate. These are what Vampires are supposed to be: cunning, vicious, unstoppable animals. Not prissy, pale things. These things were scary. They didn't hiss or go 'grr!', they screamed like demons. That guttural, yet oddly high-pitched shriek is enough to send shivers down my spine!
Josh Hartnett, I believe, did an amazing job as Sherrif Eben Olemaun, an actor I wasn't too fond of.
The concept is fresh and original, away from the aching backstories of these undead. These were monsters whose only purpose was to rip your throat open and drink your blood.
The stark, almost Expressionist (yeah, I'm that pretentious!) visuals lend a …

Before the initial release of 30 Days of Night, most horror movie sites were having a ball with how much exciting information about the film was being released. I set my hopes extremely high for the film, although I have not read the graphic novel by Steve Niles, I read the novel he released which was the exact same thing as the graphic novel. It was amazing, slightly different then the film, but it was amazing. Even though I am not a huge fan of the vampire sub genre, I really looked into the movie. Now that I got it off netflix, I am in love with it.
In the Northern most town in the world, there is a time when they have one month, 30 days, of straight night. On the first day of night though, dogs are being butchered and vandalism starts taking over the town. But when people begin …
