This is exactly the kind of movie that the 8 films to die for should be. It was violent but all the violence was believable and did not seem forced. The acting was fantastic and the plot was believable and actually scary. This movie actually invoked strong emotions in my of anger and sadness for and against these characters. The final fight between the 3 females was a little ridiculous but it didn't ruin the movie. Honestly though, aim the gun before you start shooting. If the person you want to kill is behind something it does no good to shoot 6 feet overtop of that thing. Overall this movie was leaps and bounds better then the other 8 films to die for that I have seen. If you get the chance sit down and watch this movie.

A gory effort for sure (the French like their heroines covered in blood), but it boils down to this is a cross between Texas Chainsaw Massacre (with inbred Nazis, not backwoods hicks) and Hostel (lots of torture). Decent, but nothing new.

Entertaining but hardly original.

It's funny how every few years a different part of the world throws forth a slew of movies, usually of the horror/exploitation kind, and that these movies capture something about the region they are from in an attempt to offer something new to the genre. At the beginning of the decade we got the Japanese movies such as 'The Ring', 'The Grudge' and a myriad of copycats. Then we were treated to movies such as 'Wolf Creek' and 'Storm Warning' from Australia and 'Black Sheep' from New Zealand, none of which were particularly original in terms of stories but at least they offered a flavour of where they were from. Now it's the turn of the French, and in the last couple of years we've been treated to such delights as 'Inside', 'High Tension' and this offering from writer/director Xavier …

Nothing New

Frontier(s) directed by Xavier Gens, is a small attempt at creating a sort of new Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Containing elements from movies like Saw, The Descent and other big name horror films, Frontiers brings absoulutely nothing new to the table. Instead, it brings loads of gore which I am not complaining about, and nothing which could really make me excited about when it comes to showing me something new on the horror side of things.
Frontiers was originally contained in the 8 Films To Die For Horror Fest but was removed. Supposedly i was removed because it was too harsh to be shown with the other films fo it was replaced. The movie was released in theatres for 2 days but was released the day afterwards on DVD. The ad for the movie was featured in every DVD case for the 8 films in …
