An origin story for the Sorcerer Supreme. I like the training and evolution of the character. It does focus heavily on that aspect, making it a minor departure from the relentless action seen in most other Marvel animation. The battles and plot are the done in the typical super hero style. There was room for more exploration, but it's good enough for the limited time frame.

Doctor Strange begins on a high note and introduces the viewer to a grand battle between a supernatural behemoth and a team of monks trying to save the city by slaying it. The build is not as respectable as the Dr. turns to medicine and science to save himself, but it is the mystic arts that save him in the end. It is this second half that really lets the viewer down. Why?
To date, Marvel's animated attempts (Ultimate Avengers, Iron Man etc.) all fall flat on their face when they attempt to make their hero's human side sympathetic. This is no different. The Marvel animation team do not develop their animated characters well and the personal …
