Yes, Peter Lorre's portrayal of a Japanese character does have stereotypical touches but despite this, I commend the film for depicting him as a noble and heroic figure that serves as the bastion of chivalry in contrast to the bumbling antics and scheming machinations of the white characters. Pretty ballsy move for the 1930s. Oh right, the movie's barely an hour long but if you like your mystery movies with martial arts and screwball comedy, have at it with Mr. Moto and the other films made about him.
