An atmospheric and entertaining entry into Peter Lorre's "Mr. Moto" series. It's possibly the best one with its emphasis on intrigue, adventure, mystery, and comedy. I'm impressed at how the "Mr. Moto" series generally showed Asian characters in a positive light despite some stereotyping.

Peter Lorre is always fun to watch as the wily Asian detective who finds trouble wherever he goes; it's a little more bland than its previous entry in the series, but lively enough to recommend with a solid supporting cast of criminals. Final Grade: B-
