Plot: A country boy arrives in Hong Kong in the 1930s to find a job. In his first day he rescues a local crime boss who, while dying, appoints him the new head of the gang. He is placed in charge of the gang's nightclub and inherits the problems it brings, but benefits from the good luck brought with purchasing roses from a poor old lady. When the old lady's daughter comes to visit however, the new Canton godfather attempts to repay her with a good deed.
