A sleazy sounding story done with an impeccable amount of class, "Belle de Jour" cuts right to the heart of humans' sexual desire with precision and insight.

I respect this movie for what it was and think Catherine Deneuve is a charming actress. This was my first ever Buñuel film and I have to say that I might watch more.

Directed by the notoriously provocative Luis Buñuel, this prurient production has little in the way of story or sense, but much in the way of perspicacity and wit.

Belle De Jour, ein Film, der mich immer und immer wieder heimsuchte. Es ist die Geschichte einer gut situierten jungen Frau, die sich zwei oder drei Tage pro Woche in einem Bordell prostituiert. Vermutlich ist es der berühmteste Erotik Film der Moderne und wahrscheinlich auch der Beste! Das kommt daher, weil Belle De Jour Erotik von innen her versteht. Nicht nur als Anblick von nackter Haut und Schweiss, sondern als Imagination. Wir sehen den Film durch die Perspektive Severines, einer 23jährigen respektablen Ehefrau, gespielt von Catherine Deneuve.
