Routine suspense thriller with a rather solid cast to keep things...watchable? It's utterly amusing seeing Chris Evans like this now he is one of hte more popular franchise actors working right now. Kim Basinger is pretty wooden as the damsel-in-distress. But Jason Statham turns in a mean villainous performance.

The story is about a random wrong number on his cell phone sends a young man into a high-stakes race against time to save a woman's life. this movie is not as bad as people may say, the film is rushed in a good way to move the plot and the action is thrilling.

A biology teacher named Jessica Martin (Kim Basinger) is held captive by Ethan (Jason Statham) and his group. Jessica through a broken phone was able to tap Ryan (Chris Evans). Chloe (Jessica Biel), Ethan’s girlfriend, complains about his being irresponsible. Ryan asks assistance from a police officer named Mooney (William H. Macy). It had a few unbelievable scenes like Ryan getting away with so many crimes, Jessica being able to tap a cellphone from a broken phone, her son being spotted swiftly by Ryan and many more. Its premise though was fresh and performances, especially Basinger, were solid. Direction and screenplay could have been better, Cellular is a fun ride about corrupt cops, trust and responsibility.

"It's a day spa, you f***!"
A biology teacher (Kim Bassinger) is at home, talking with the maid, when suddenly some bad guys storm the room, shoot the maid and take the woman hostage. She is locked up in a cellar, clueless as to what's going on. She desperately searches for a way out and soon sees a phone, only to have it smashed when her menacing kidnapper (Jason Statham) re-enters the room.
She is able to piece it back together long enough to make a random call to a stranger. The guy on the other end is just your average college aged kid (Chris Evans) who at first thinks it's a joke (as you would), but soon realizes she's for real when he hears her getting beaten up by one of her kidnappers. She tells him that the kidnappers have actually targeted her husband and kid and were …
