I love Samantha Morton (and usually Tim Robbins too). However, this one was a total bomb to me. The story was less than interesting and not really follow-able. To each their own. I'm surprised to hear when someone likes this though. Sam has had better moments.

This movie is and old fashioned sci-fi masterpiece, made like old times with small budget, not a lot of FX, and with more phylosophical, political and social touches ala Blade Runner. The concept of a mixed language, the usual outsiders and what they do to get in, is great, it works. It's also great the performances given by Tim Robins and Samantha Morton, who's maybe not gorgeous, but she has a lot of sex appeal. She has a strong personality that always uses to make her characters tough, and at the same time, fragiles. I love her. Interesting ending.

I later came to realize that it was one of those rare films that would leave an indelible impression on me. I was thinking about it and remembering it long after I saw it.
Now, after seeing it seven more times in the last couple of months, I …
