Plot: Formed in 1983, the upstart USFL played football in the spring, recruited respectable players and decent TV ratings all while creating their own atmosphere. But as their popularity rose, they expanded, and a wealthy mogul stepped in with his own ideas and as the USFL and NFL butted head, it led to a courtroom showdown that essentially ended the leagues days - but the question remains, who killed the USFL? -- Chris Kavan

While I was too young when this drama between the USFL and NFL went down, it's still interesting to hear about it from the people who were there, from Burt Reynolds to Donald Trump. It's one of those "what-could-have-been" stories - if things had worked out differently, we might still have two separate leagues today.
