Plot: I.S. 318 seems at first glance like a typical inner-city school - 65% of students come from homes that live before the poverty line and looming budget cuts threaten the school - but it is different. In I.S. 318 chess is king - in fact, the school boasts the best team in the country and took a school on the brink of failure to one of the best in New York.
