It glares you in the face with an emotionally troubling plot filled with ethical complexities. A great modern mystery with family in crisis drama driving it every step of the way.

This is the best example of a good movie with a crap ending. One of the best movie ensemble I've seen. If you want a thriller-heavy drama movie, this would be good for you. Brilliant cinematography!

Rasende Wut

"Prisoners" by Yojimbo

When two little girls are kidnapped and the police seem unable to prove a case against their prime suspect, their fathers choose to take matters into their own hands. Prisoners is another abduction thriller in a similar vein to the likes of Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone and Gone Girl. Although a little generic in this respect, its major asset is another towering performance from Jake Gyllenhaal whose intense detective draws you into the case and Dennis Villeneuve's direction provides plenty of tension and atmosphere. The only real issue with Prisoners is the script which, although not bad by any means, is nowhere near as clever as it thinks it is; it's just a little too contrived, a little too predictable and the twists and turns will be a little too easy to spot by anyone familiar with …

Best Paced Film Of 2013

Edge of your seat suspense thriller. There wasn't anything I didn't enjoy about this movie except for the fact that I was a little to tense and on edge to go to bed after finishing last night. The story of two little girls who disappear is a parents worst nightmare. But the edge of your seat suspense this movie keeps you in for 2 and a half hours goes beyond that initial horrible feeling. You might think that two and half hours is a little to long but it felt just right to me. It was just long enough to make you feel that dread and horror that all the characters in the movie are feeling. That feeling of never finding the girls or worse finding what you don't want to find. That is all thanks to the great direction and pace director Denis Villeneuve gives the movie. The other key part of …

I wasn't too thrilled by the trailers - but it looks like this is one I will have to check out as reviews have been positive. I probably won't catch it in theaters, but it has a spot reserved on my "to watch" list now.
