Plot: A doctor feels responsible for ruining his daughter's face in an accident - so much that she must wear a mask. 'Eyes Without A Face' evokes realistic horrors through the means of medical science. Characters become villainous when driven to extremes in an attempt to regain normality. There's elements of the grotesque mixed with the melancholy. A more dramatic slow-paced watch than expected. It's a shocker that is not entirely genre specific, but it definitely delivers the shocks. Subtle moments of beauty throughout add a special eeriness to the offsetting nature of the story.
