An amiable comedy suitable for families and enjoyable for fans of Cary Grant. Grant plays a beachcomber assigned to patrol a deserted island during World War 2. He stumbles upon a stranded schoolmarm (Leslie Caron) and her seven young schoolgirls. Forced to take care of the group while watching out for the Japanese navy, Grant falls in love with Caron and vice-versa. It's basically The African Queen crossed with Heaven Knows Mr. Allison. It's charming good fun.

Cary Grant sheds his debonair image and portrays a cowardly misanthrope lumbered with a french schoolteacher and her class of young girls on a desert island during WWII. The romance is charming, it's exciting when the enemy appears and there are loads of laughs. Quirky and lots of fun.
