It doesn't always find even ground, but it's reminiscent of Woody Allen's finest works, which makes it quite appealing.

An uproarious and intelligently made comedy and probably the best one with a predominantly black cast in years. I'm biracial myself and it always pained me to see such films waste the talent involved and promote negative stereotypes. Those are still in this movie but are shaken down for the negative influence that they are. Chris Rock finds other things to make jokes about and it's almost everything in sight. His performance nails what people love about Chris Rock's style and delivery. The allstar cast is all around excellent and features a surprising number of celebrity cameos which you totally didn't expect but the bit where they appear at a strip club for a bachelor party is one of the highlights of the movie. Chris Rock makes a very funny comedy that puts a new spin on the restraints …

One of 2014's Best Comedies

Top Five is one of the most excellent comedies of 2014. Chris Rock fully showcases his ability by Starring and Directing his own film. Top Five has basically no physical comedy what makes you laugh is the dialogue which isn't as common with movies today. Top Five shows some insight into the life of a celebrity, and experiences that I'm sure Rock has had in his life. Not as riddled with cliches that many comedies have been leaning on these days and Top Five is carried by Rock and Rosario Dawson who is also very strong as the female lead. There are also appearances by funny men like Tracy Morgan and Kevin Hart, there are even some cameo appearances by some other well known people. I was really impressed by Top Five and hopefully I'll see Chris Rock directing again.

Chris Rock taking on the directors chair... should be interesting.

Actors taking on the directors chair isn't all that new. We seen many actors direct a movie that normally can turn out great or turn out bad. Like for example Ben Affleck when he did Argo, Gone Baby Gone and The Town which by the way where great movies. And you also get by actors who failed misery like Angelina Jolie with In the Land of Blood and Honey. And Top Five isn't bad but I didn't really enjoy the movie that much to be honest.
Let's start of with the positive: Chris …
