Mercy was a movie that's worth watching if you're looking for a movie or horror movie to watch. It's good enough to keep you hooked until the end but it's not good enough to watch more than once.Once it reaches the end, the movie starts falling off.By then it only has 10-15 minutes left & you're probably thinking I made it this far so why not finish it (That's what I mean when I say it's good enough to keep you hooked until the end) It's an OK movie with not much going on so there's not much to write about.I did enjoy the scenery. That was nice.If you can see it for free, Great but I wouldn't pay to see it

Considering the mostly negative adaptation from Stephen King's work over the years, I wasn't giving this somewhat straight-to-video (or VOD if you will) movie much thought. However, the cast (including Chandler Riggs from The Walking Dead and names like Dylan McDermott and Shirley Knight) at least caught my attention. The characters are decent, acting adequate and the story, while strange, has a certain creep factor throughout. Plus, it doesn't overstay its welcome, coming in at a brisk 79 minutes. That being said, it's not that memorable nor super exciting. If you want a horror appetizer, however, it's worth the short watch.

Whoopee, a Stephen King movie...don't get excited

"Mercy" is based on a short story by Stephen King (original titled "Gramma"). In the past they made a series of movies out of Stephen Kings stories, with varying success. "Christine", "Carrie", "Misery" and "Pet Sematary" are all gems and timeless classics. And of course "The Shawshank Redemption" is a masterpiece. I wasn't so thrilled about "Cujo" and "Firestarter", both in book form as the eponymous film. And I'm waiting for "Cell" impatiently (even though John Cusack plays a leading role). After I've read that "Mercy" was based on a story by King, I had to check if it was any good. And once again it shows that a short story is never a good basis for a feature film. The reason why it resulted in a short story, is just because there isn't enough material to turn it into a long story. …
