Funny and sweet, much like the title character, but "Hello, My Name is Doris" evidently left me wanting more.

Field's Shines in Bittersweet Drama/Comedy

'Hello, My Name is Doris' was a pleasant surprise. This drama/comedy focuses on one senior woman's desires to live out the life she never got to experience due to her life choices and obligation to family. She starts off as a nice (slight) recluse, but over the course of the film we discover more about her past. This only served to strengthen my emotional connection with her. She finds a willingness to aim for a completely unobtainable goal, bringing out the best qualities of herself she's kept dormant. Her strive to romantically pursue a much younger man at her place of work plays out in such a charming fashion. All of her awkward missteps are meant for laughs, but they are not in the vein of mocking. All of the humor is sharp and very funny. I laughed out loud quite often. The …
