Although it stars Bing Crosby at his crooning best, the vapid "Going My Way" gets way too corny far too often.

A well shot and acted musical staring Bing Crosby as the ever present "new" priest. This is worth a luck for those of you looking for a feel good, well done early 40's movie. It doesn't really show its date, but people may be turned off.

A fairly enjoyable romp with pleasantness all around. The music is fine I really like the classics and the "new" stuff for the film is okay. The story is good enough to follow through because of the likable performances from Barry Fitzgerald who is always very likable especially in the quiet man and Bing Crosby who is actually toned down in this film and that is a good thing. Crosby gives a charming performance, while Fitzgerald gives a classic and lovable one. I might add that both of them won Best Actor and Supporting Actor, respectively. The film won four other awards (Director, Song, Story, and Screenplay), all of which it rightly deserved.
The film does have many faults though. While the story is relatively solid, there are a few events that seem either random or unnecessary. There …
