This is a really fun movie with a new spin on the original. All the stars do a good job and the movie was really enjoyable.

Funnier than I thought it would be

At first I thought this movie would be some kind of cheesy spin off on Meet the Parents except with an interracial relationship. It turned out to be quite original and absolutely hilarious. Although the plot was similar to Meet the Parents (the boyfriend has to win the reluctant father's blessing), the conflicts still ended up being creative and original. On top of being original, I thought that this was the funniest romantic comedy I have seen for quite some time. This is because of the fact that the boyfriend happens to be white which provides plenty of room for some racial jokes. Another element that makes this film funny is the characterization of the two male characters. Bernie Mac plays the character Percy, the intimidating father who's defensive of his daughter, and Ashton Kutcher …
