Based from the novel "A genius in the family" by Hillary du Pré, this heart-wrenching movie is focused mainly in Jacqueline du Pré life but also is presented from Hillary's perspective. It exposes a clear sibling rivalry, the sacrifice and stress of the whole family in the world of the classical music, the relationship love-hate with the instrument and disease debilitation. While not for everyone's tastes, I am delighted with the music soundtrack, the well development of the story, good dialogues, the actors performance and the pleasing scenes without austerity. Despite that the story has been criticised of not being really true related with the biography, is an enjoyable movie.
