Despite the confusing time jumps and underwhelming ending, "Ju-On" is a startling and fresh take on the haunted house trope.

The story is about a house with a violent past curses anyone who steps inside. This movie scared me so much that it made me want to sleep with the light at night before bed.

I vividly remember watching this in a theater and the crowd was really into it. So many horrific and surprising scenes. A story of Rika is a volunteer social worker with the revelation of the sinister Takeo Saeki, the killer of Kayako, and the source of the Grudge. It has a well written mysterious plot, terrifying score and amazing performances all throughout. The Grudge is a well made horror near as good as the original Ring.
