I thought it would be cheesy and stupid, but it was mind blowing.

Looks good to me too. I'll be sure to check it out if it comes to town. (Ps. Lol "Harvey Scissorhands.")

The buzz on this one is terrific right now - luckily I think it survived good ole "Harvey Scissorhands" and has survived mostly intact. If it actually plays in my area, I would certainly check it out - but likely I'll have to wait for home viewing. And yes, Joon-ho Bong is an excellent director (form his films I have seen) and I highly recommend his work.

Good news for once, Harvey Weinstein is not being a complete pompous ass and is releasing Joon-ho Bong's Snowpiercer in its original form (albeit on a limited release at first). I, for one, would rather deal with this than having a film that bears little to no resemblance to the director's vision. I have a feeling this might not appeal to a huge general audience, but I have been excited about this after seeing the first trailer and at least now I can rest easy knowing I'll be able to see the true version of it. As seen at http://www.deadline.com/2 014/02/bong-joon-ho-and-h arvey-weinstein-reach-tru ce-on-snowpiercer/

Just saw the first trailer. The idea behind the film at first seemed a little suspect, but this is Joon-ho Bong directing -  and if you haven't seen any of his previous films (he has done the monster movie throwback The Host and the much more character-driven film Mother), you don't know what you're missing. This has a much bigger and more recognizable cast: Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, Octavia Spencer, Ed Harris and Jamie Bell amongst them - and I have a feeling that the characters will once again be the key to this succeeding.
