The Godfather
There is no such thing as a perfect film, but this is the closest anyone has ever come before.Oscar-worthy performances are given by Duvall, Cann, and of course the great Marlon Brando, who won Best Actor for his portrayal of Don Vito Corleone.Everything from the costume design, to the art direction, from the eerie lighting, to the now infamous score by Nino Rota was all beautifully executed.Although this made most of the cast members stars overnight, it is Al Pacino who shines brighter than the rest as the hesitant, yet loyal son who gets thrust into the family business.In my opinion he should have won Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Michael Corleone, and if not him then James Caan for his performance as Santino.The theme of …
