"Robotropolis" is a "Kind of Nice" movie that reminds me of "I Robot". We could almost call it a B version of "I Robot" if it wasn't for the non-futuristic environment, for it seems to happen during our days what makes it interesting.
The best thing (perhaps the only good thing) about this movie is definitely the storyline. It kept me interested, waiting for more and wondering how it might end.
For a science fiction movie I was waiting for a bit more of action, but I liked the whole interview thing they did.
The special effects weren't the best I've seen, but it wasn't the worst either. The robots were well done but when they started moving... ooops! Specially the part they're supposed to turn into some sort of hunting dogs in the jungle.
The acting was awful, the actors looked like amateurs, they had no feelings, I wasn't able to spot the anger, sadness, despair or frustration the script/characters demanded. This is not a general opinion, all the actors were bad (no exception). It's amazing how people look at a shooting right in front of them as if it was an everyday thing. A man gets shot during an interview, what do you do?... You keep reporting the events of course (assuming we're living in Baghdad).
In my overall opinion, in spite of the bad acting, the storyline is very interesting and will not let you fall asleep and it's worth watching.
