Visual wonderment albeit with an opaque plot

It is very rare when American filmmakers are allowed (and allow themselves) to get so visualy imaginative. Given the disjointed nature of the plot, the audience is required to totally suspend their disbelief. And if, like me, you allow yourself, you will be spirited to a world that doesn't need to make sense, but does deliver true wonderment. If anything, its worth it just to see Uma Thurman play Botticcelli's Venus... cherubs and all.
