Plot: A genetic scientist, Bruce Banner (played by Eric Bana), is on the verge of a great discovery in the field of cell reproduction when he is accidentally exposed to gamma radiation during an experiment gone awry, which, in conjunction with his own already altered DNA, causes him to become a rampaging green giant when he is properly provoked.
Bana's great at conveying the underlying tension of a seemingly-mild mannered scientist until he gets angry and then becomes a raging, mindless human being. Director Ang Lee does a masterful job in lifting the characters in the Hulk off of the comic page. Sam Elliott is good as General Thunderbolt Ross while Nick Nolte plays David Banner, the scientist father of the Hulk, who experimented with his own DNA and passed the genetic flaw on to his son. The elder Banner is only playing with only 44 cards in the deck, and Nolte's over-the-top performance makes him a riveting character.
You're making me angry,' says Bruce before transforming into the muscle bound Hulk. `You won't like me when I'm angry.' Oh yes I did Bruce. In fact, I like you lot more when you're angry.
I am as big of a comic book fan as I am a fan of films so I would have to say that the Hulk is still one of my favorite comic book characters.
