Also known as ( brotherhood ) in the uk . This is a truely brilliant movie. one of my all time favourites.
The battle scenes are on a epic scale like saving private ryan but the story is far better than that movie with a real human element to it. the acting is also fantastic .
The story is about two brothers during the koreon war who are forced into joining the army to fight the communists. leaving behind their family uncared for and putting there dreams and hopes for the future on hold
Jin-tae Lee has spent his life looking out for this younger brother who they rest their hopes on to gain a education and have the life the family couldn't have. so when they forced to fight the only way he can win his brothers freedom from the army is to win a medal but in doing this he risks his own life and those around him to the dismay of his younger brother.
The conflicts of war and between the brothers is perfectly potrayed.
i wont spoil the movie by revealing what happens but things take a tragic twist . The film blows away the hollywood blockbusters in my opinion of the likes of saving private ryan. etc.
its in subtitles but dont let that put you off as the story is gripping throughout and you wont notice after a whie.
