'Funniest movie I've Seen in a Long Time

I’ve seen several abysmal comedies this year. It’s such a breath of fresh air to watch a comedy that’s actually funny that I’m probably making this is The End out to be a lot better then it actually is.
In this movie a group of actors play themselves (or rather: parodies of themselves) and their wacky, hellish, hi-jinks during the apocalypse. These actors all do great jobs parodying themselves, and have a lot of fun in the world those writers/directors Rogen and Goldberg have created.
The jokes are mostly solid, but even the ones that fail are excusable, partially because even the failed jokes are acceptable due to the lunacy of the characters who tell them and partially because there are so many jokes that you barely have time to notice that a joke isn’t funny before your laughing at another one. The whole thing comes together surprisingly well.
When I first heard about this movie, I thought it was a blatant attempt to rip-off the hype of the upcoming Edgar Wright comedy, The Worlds End; but I was dead wrong. This is the End comes from an original place, it’s a must see for fans of dark or stoner comedy, and reminds us how good it feels to watch something that’s legitimately funny.
