I have not seen a movie in years that I thought was as phenomenally acted as this one. Everybody deserves and award of some sort for this film. I also loved the cinematography of Emmanuel Lubezki. The continuous steady-cam shot was brilliant. It felt like we were right there behind the scenes with these amazing actors.

With that being said, the film itself left a little to be desired. The Grand Budapest Hotel was more entertaining, the acting wasn't quite as good, but the script also wasn't as heavy as this one was.

Birdman also took on some fantasy aspects, especially the final third during the superhero scenes and the flying scene. I loved the twist when we find out that Michael Keaton flying through the air was all in his head, he was actually in a cab, which leads me to that ending.

If you're on this page, I'm assuming you've seen it, Michael Keaton jumps out of a window, but we're left to decide what happened as Emma Stone looks on with a smile on her face. I think he's dead laying on the pavement, we do hear voices yelling off-screen as well as sirens. I think she knew her dad was tortured and this was a way out. He died happy knowing that his play would've been a hit and he also realized that if he had to he could always go back to playing Birdman. Ultimately, I think his mind was made up, we learn how calm he is in his dressing room between acts talking to his ex-wife. He knew that he was going to kill himself, failed while on-stage, but succeeded later.
