Back To It's Roots

Being a casual fan of this series, I was surprised to have enjoyed this entry. It's definitely an improvement on the previous two entries. It brings back the tension and creates some suspenseful moments in the unpredictably crafted death sequences. The story adds more to the formula, by throwing in a couple of mild twists to keep things interesting. There is some good dark humor here, but it never rises above the horror and the tone of the movie is much less over-the-top than the last film.
