Promising Start to a New Spider-Man Series

While 'Amazing Spider-Man' does cover similar story elements found in Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man movie, it is still it's own film and serves up a completely different take on the title character. In this version there is more attention to backstory, characters/relationships and drama (which I enjoyed the most). The romance and emotional scenes were surprisingly effective. The action and visual effects were top tier. I also liked that this was a much more faithful adaptation of the source material. My only complaints would be the redundancy in retelling the origin story (something that I can't really fault the movie for) and the fact that a lot of the movie was setting ground-work for future sequels. But, overall, this was a highly entertaining and emotionally satisfying web-slinging adventure. I look forward to future installments.
