'Blue Caprice' takes a much different approach to retelling a tragic event than any film I've seen. The focus is entirely upon the mindset of the two main characters, who eventually end up causing widespread panic with their random murder spree. In a quiet slow build, we see the relationship form between the shooter and his 'mentor'. Isaiah Washington's simmering hatred is the driving force behind the foreboding menace. Everything is conveyed with such plausibility and realism. A commendable showcase of subtle psychological decline.
