The Wacky 'Ones'

This is a seriously dumb sequel, but I found it more entertaining than part 4. As a whole, 'The Marked Ones' stays true to the workings of the series. However, there's less reliance on some of the usual tropes. This time the camera operators (or supposed characters) take to the urban streets. No slow reveal of a house haunting with multiple nights of ghost capturing home videos. Nope, here we follow an on-foot investigation into the mysterious witch cult that's been hinted at since part 3. One of the main characters develops unexplained powers through unexplained reasons, then slowly turns into a weird possessed being who kills for no reason. I found much of the latter half to be unintentionally funny. That's about it for positives. It wasn't as mundane and routine as part 4, but damn was it stupid. Very little is added to the overarching story. Only more needless padding of the mythology. Oh, and there's absolutely nothing remotely close to an actual scare present.
