A strange movie. If I had known going in that it was Luc Besson, I would have expected it, but I thought it would just be a random action movie.
It was fun and pretty to look at. But 2/3 of the way through, I decided the only way I could deal with the movie was by deciding that the all the stuff about "using 100% of your brain power" was garbage, and that the drug scarjo took was actually just a really awesome club drug that made her hallucinate everything else in the movie.
it makes so much more sense that way, and magically solves all the plot holes and terrible, terrible fake science. the fake science is so bad that I couldn't take it even semi-seriously, but if I think of it as "this is what a really high scarjo thinks is science", it totally works. and all the hokey philosophical nonsense she spouts that is supposed to be the work of an amazing super-brain? yeah, not so much, but if you think of it as the blathering of a college kid who just ate some space cake, suddenly it seems totally appropriate and in character.
