Relentless and anxiety inducing drama about a NYC jeweler and gambling addict named Howard (Sandler) who is stuck with a great deal of trouble.
He’s indebted to some nasty people, has to juggle an estranged wife and wild mistress, and retrieve a valuable gemstone from Kevin Garnett. No seriously, Kevin Garnett is in this, and honestly he’s not a bad actor.
As for Adam Sandler, he’s flat out amazing in this. It’s a crime that he was not even nominated for an Oscar. I think he may have beaten Joaquin Phoenix if he was included that year. It’s a career best performance.
