One of the most unique vampire movies

After reading reviews that said this movie is mediocre at best I didn't see this in the theatre. I really wish I had! This film was not only highly entertaining, but was also really well done. Unlike typical vampire movies were there are lots of cheep thrills and gore, this one was eerie and somewhat action packed. It reminded me of Assault on Precinct 13th in the way the people are hopelessly trapped by circumstances that seem impossible to overcome.
The thing I liked most about this movie is it dove right into the action. Instead of the shit hitting the fan an hour into the movie, it started early on and never really let up. This is pretty good for a movie that is almost 2 hours long and a hard task to achieve in a vampire movie.
I also like the vampires. They were not glamorous, they were not petty and they were not "hollywood". They were an evil clan of monsters who were smart and ruthless enough to take out an entire town of people.
If you like vampire movies or just dark thrillers in general, check this one out and decide for yourself. This is easily one of the most underrated movies I have seen in a while. It is also one that I could see myself watching time and time again without it getting old.
