A surprisingly artful exploitation flick about what else? Exploitation. Not only does "Witchfinder General" make proper use of Vincent Price's villainous on-screen reputation, but its unflinching attention to the sadism and violence related to the Puritan methods of witchhunting makes similar works on the subject such as Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" look like child's play by comparison.
