This is the best Friday the 13th movie yet. It isn’t really a remake but more of a re-launching of the franchise.
It is everything that you want in a slasher film: stupid teenagers, casual sex, boobs and gore. There are nods to Jason’s past in there, for those that recognize it. It is the first time we get to see how Jason lives and how he always stays ahead of his victims. The kills are gory and over the top, as you would hope for.
There could have been more of his mother represented in the movie as it skims over his past. Some of the kills were predictable but overall they had flair.
