With an ALIEN reboot on the horizon we must question why ALIEN never went this route. This is the closest thing in cinema to Dark Horse's wonderful Alien vs. Predator comics and it makes the AVP schlok-fest look like amatuer hour at Showtime at the Apollo. The pure kinectic force and diverse characters don't quite capture the deep metaphorical premises of ALIEN, but it stands alone as a great sci-fi flick nonetheless and deserves it's place as "unique".
