Brooklyn's Finest Review

Brooklyn's Finest is one of the better crime drama cop movies out there. First off when i first saw the trailer for this movie I wondered a little bit. Because of Wesley Snipes, don't get me wrong I like Snipes but lately he fell off the map. Probably because of him going to prison but still a high profile movie like this with him i didn't know but I still said I'd give it a chance, I did and Wesley Snipes killed it. He played his part well. He sold me on being a washed up drug dealer trying to get out of the drug world. About time he's back to his roots instead of doing direct-to-DVD movies. Also Richard Gere, let's put it this way I know of him but never really watched any of his movies, maybe a few. Because he mostly did chick flicks. I honestly thought he'd be the worse part of the film but I am eating my words. Richard Gere turned in a great performance best I've seen him do. As he walks the streets of Brooklyn you see pain in his eyes as his life has been nothing but being a cop which as made him depressed. Don Cheadle Did GREAT, one of his best performances ever on screen made his scenes with Snipes so much better. Cheadle and Snipes have that brother love for eachother you can just feel it as you watch. But the best performance in this movie is by Ethan Hawke. He brings a tour de force powerhouse performance that doesn't slow down, As a struggling family man with seven kids including his wife that is pregant with twins. He feels that as much as he put in as a cop he isn't getting paid enough to put his life on the line. His wife is in danger because of wood mold in the walls of there house. He needs a new house and more money which make events spiral out of control with Ethan Hawke which is why he steals the show. I remember watching Ethan Hawke in (Gattaca, Training Day) he just keeps getting better and better in every movie. One step at a time he keeps getting closer to my favorite actor of all-time. See this movie it's a film worth seeing you will not be let done. Props to Antoine Fuqa keep the good movies rolling.
